Attention Star Wars geeks in South-East Queensland …
The 501st Legion’s Redback Garrison will combine with other Garrisons from around the region to create Australia’s largest gathering of Star Wars characters at Dreamworld over the weekend of 19-20 February 2011.
There’ll be Stormtroopers, Sandtroopers, Biker Scouts, Tusken Raiders, Clonetroopers, and some bloke called Darth Vader.
You can only buy tickets at the gate on the day - mention “Stormtrooper” and get $10 off adult tickets (so it would be $64 adults & $49 kids / pensioners. Kids are 3-13). $10 from every ticket sold will go to the Queensland Premier’s Flood Appeal.
Events on both days:
- Parade @ 11:30am - Kids under 12 can dress in Star Wars costumes and join in (what about me? I’m over 40, but I act like a 4 year old. Not fair).
- Croc Feed @ 1:30pm - A Stormtrooper will feed Goliath and Matilda. Or be fed to. The press release is a little unclear on this point.
- Jedi Academy @ 2:30pm - Kids under 12 can join the Jedis for some lightsaber training. Hopefully the Jedis don’t include Anakin.
- Biker Scouts Motocoaster Ride @ 3:30pm - watch the Biker Scouts take on The MotoCoaster: one of Dreamworld’s Big 6 Thrill Rides
