Always growing older - never growing up.

Eclectic random geekery: Star Wars, Doctor Who, Sci-Fi, science, photography, LEGO, and stupid, stupid things.

This is my personal opinion / reblogging blog. If you're after my personal photos or awful photoshop creations, the links are below.

LIKE YOU CARE...

As they say in the classics "I'm too old for this shit".

That said, I live in sunny Brisbane (Australia), forging a career in advertising / marketing whilst enjoying life as it comes.

I take photos on my iPhone, listen to (a lot of) music on my iPhone, and like Star Wars. So yes, I'm a geek.

That's about it.

Party on!

My Top 30 for the week of June 6 2012

My, there are some great songs out there right now. Here’s my high rotation songs at this point in time …

1. Timebomb - Kylie Minogue (she’s still the queen of dance)
2. See and Don’t See - The Afghan Whigs (haunting)
3. Extraloveable - Prince (he released this sneakily last year)
4. Unashamed Desire - Missy Higgins (quite edgy for Missy)
5. Empty Room - Prince (heard this for the first time at this concert in Brisbane - awesome!)
6. Masterpiece - Madonna (classic Madge - yearning and bittersweet)
7. Little Talks - Of Monsters and Men (thanks for the introduction, Mr Jimmy Fallon)
8. Intergalactic Rockit - Beastie Boys vs. Herbie Hanckock vs. INXS (RIP Adam - damn the Beasties created some amazing tunes)
9. Home Again - Michael Kiwanuka (long term top 10 fav, soulful, rich voice carries and is carried away by a stuning melody)
10. Whiskey, Whiskey, Whiskey - John Mayer (new album is surprisingly good - this is the highlight)
11. Girl Gone Wild - Madonna (why isn’t this a hit?)
12. You’re Mine - Devin (UK pop-punk with attitude)
13. Hanging On - Active Child (laid back falsetto bliss)
14. Titanium 500 - David Guetta feat. Sia vs The Proclaimers vs Midnight Oil (guilty secret of the tweens meets guilty secret of the 80’s)
15. Secret - Seal (only just discovered this soulful gem)
16. Don’t Stop (St. Lucia Remix) - Foster the People (dance!)
17. 5678! - Butterfly Boucher (great new Aussie songstress)
18. Transformer - Grace Woodroofe (smokey, dark and addictive)
19. Go Right Ahead - The Hives (welcome back you wacky zany madmen)
20. The Heron and the Fox - Little Scream (another hauntingly beautiful track)
21.Carbon Affair - Hey Geronimo (sophomore single shows they’re no one trick pony. It’s a free download - get it!)
22. Lost In The Light - Bahamas (laid-back guitar-driven alt-pop)
23. Sunday Drive - Ladyhawke (not receiving enough mainstream attention - give her a go)
24. Party Song - Pet Shop Boys (off their 2nd B-Side album)
25. Wild Love - Gossling (unique voice draws you in)
26. Body Crazy - Beastie Boys vs Prince and the Revolution
27. Smoke and Mirrors - Gotye (why not - every song on this album is amazing)
28. Chic Franzie Boys - Beastie Boys vs Franz Ferdinand vs Chic
29. Standing Strong - Yung (anthemic hip hop from upcoming indigenous Australians)

Breathe Me
Sia

♬ I have lost myself again, lost myself and I am nowhere to be found. ♬

Magnificent song. I’m a massive Sia fan. If you like this, grab “Soon We’ll Be Found” - an even better song from this Adelaidian.
